A5, A4 or DL Flyers: How to Choose Your Size
Choose a flyer size around the message and the way someone will receive it. A short offer handed to a customer needs a different layout from a detailed service sheet. Start with what the reader needs to understand, then decide how much space that requires.
The dimensions below describe common formats. They are planning references; confirm the exact finished size and stock available for your Laserco order before preparing final artwork.
Three formats, three useful starting points
A5: a compact handout with room for a clear offer
A5 measures 148 × 210 mm. It is a useful starting point for a short promotion, event invitation or simple introduction. Try one headline, one supporting image, a few essential details and one next action. If the design only works with very small text, shorten the copy or consider using the reverse.
A4: more space for information people need to keep
A4 measures 210 × 297 mm. Consider it for a service overview, information sheet or a layout containing several clearly separated items. The additional area is useful when it improves readability. Filling every available corner with text usually makes the main message harder to find.
DL: a narrow format that needs a focused layout
A common DL flyer size is 99 × 210 mm. Its narrow shape suits short menus, product inserts and simple service lists. Plan vertically and check how the sheet will fit the intended holder or packaging. Confirm the exact DL dimensions with the printer because the term can be used for different finished formats.

Do a paper-size test before designing
- Cut or fold plain paper to the proposed finished dimensions.
- Write the actual headline, offer, contact details and next action.
- View it at a normal reading distance, without zooming in.
- Check whether it fits the display, envelope or bag you intend to use.
This quick test can reveal a crowded layout before you spend time preparing the final design. For a quotation, start with Laserco flyer printing options. If the reverse could solve the space problem, compare double-sided flyer printing before increasing the page size.
Flyer, folded leaflet or brochure?
A flat flyer works well for a focused message. When the content needs multiple sections or a reading sequence, ask whether a folded format or brochure is more appropriate. A fold changes the layout and panel arrangement; do not submit a flat flyer file and assume it can simply be folded without adjustment.
